Instrumentation at the EMBL Grenoble outstation

At the EMBL Grenoble, the Diffraction Instrumentation Team develops instruments for Macromolecular X-ray crystallography, neutron crystallography and Small Angle X-ray Scattering experiments, strongly involving the Synchrotron Crystallography and High Throughput Crystallisation teams. Current focus is on beamline automation, diffractometers for micro-crystals and automation of crystal harvesting. Several projects are developed in collaboration with the ESRF Structural Biology Group and with EMBL@PETRA-III. Most of the instruments developed are commercially available from Bruker-asc, Maatel scientific-instrumentation, Cedrat, Molecular Dimensions, Hampton Research or Mitegen.
